- I'm absolutely in love with Tissot's latest watch offerings, and I recently got my hands on the upgraded Tissot Seastar 1000. Let me tell you, this watch is a game-changer. With its upgraded bracelet and bezel, this watch can hold its own against even the toughest micro-brands and entry-level dive watches. It's an unbeatable value. I highly recommend this watch to anyone looking for a high-quality dive watch that won't break the bank.
- The crown on this watch is just the right size, not too big, not too small. And the thickness of the watch is just right as well. But what really sets this watch apart is the powermatic 80 movement. This is an absolutely incredible movement, especially considering the price point of this watch. And with the upgraded bracelet and bezel, this watch is an absolute must-have for anyone looking for a top-of-the-line dive watch!
NanaDC Suave Rating: 2/5
- The dial on this watch is absolutely stunning. The deep blue color with a slight sunburst pattern is simply breathtaking. And while it's not as iridescent as the previous version, I actually prefer this more understated look. The color-matched date wheel is gone, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The white date wheel on this watch still looks great and matches the overall aesthetic perfectly.
- The bracelet on this upgraded Seastar 1000 is an absolute masterpiece. Tissot has upgraded it from the previous version, which had a less-than-stellar multi-link bracelet. This oyster-style bracelet with female end links is a massive improvement. And with the polished and brushed elements on the bracelet, this watch is truly a sight to behold. The buckle has also been upgraded, which was a major flaw in the previous version. Overall, Tissot has done an incredible job with this bracelet.
Benefits
- Reasonably priced
- Water resistance of 300 meters
- Scratch-resistant sapphire crystal dial
- Quality Swiss automatic movement (Tissot Powermatic 80)
- Functional

- It can feel a bit large and heavy for some users
Tissot Couturier Automatic: Best Value
The Tissot Couturier Automatic Chronograph is one of the finest Swiss-automatic watches you can get for under $1000. It’s powered by a great ETA-based movement a dependable and accurate piece that gives you reliable performance day in and day out.
The watch has an impressive case diameter of 44mm and is water resistant up to a depth of 100 meters.
It has an attractive design with a chrome dial, silver-tone hands, index hour markers, and a tachymeter along its contours. This timepiece also has three subdials and a date display window at 3 o’clock. Its lugs are made of polished stainless steel with a brushed finish, while the strap is made from brown crocodile-grain leather which improves its aesthetics and comfort drastically. What stands out most about this watch is its scratch-resistant sapphire crystal complete with a “T” on the seconds hand, giving it a standout look.
Setting this timepiece is also quite simple—it only takes pressing two chronograph buttons (and sometimes the crown) to get it going. The crown itself looks like a door of a safe, it's so thick! On top of that, the deployment clasp provides both stiffness and fluidity depending on how it’s adjusted.
This watch was made with sports events in mind—everything from racing cars to cycling or motorcycling to fencing and ice hockey have been incorporated into the design of this chronograph
As evident by names such as Grace Kelly, Elvis Presley, Nelson Mandela, James Stewart, L.B. Jefferies (from Bad Behavior), Alfred Hitchcock and Michael Owen who were seen sporting Tissot. It even won Danica Patrick over when she received it! And we all know how close ties Tissot has had with Nicky Hayden throughout his career!
All in all, I would highly recommend this timepiece, with its reliable movement, tough construction materials plus scratch-proof crystal (sapphire crystal--at least 2500 Vickers) it will last you through anything life throws your way!

Tissot Le Locle Powermatic
The Tissot Le Locle Powermatic (T0064071603300) is the watch that got me interested in Tissot watches. I've reviewed this watch many times, and I still love it.
It is a Swiss watch perfect for the refined gentleman. It's a classic yet elegant piece for formal occasions and everyday wear. With a stainless steel case and bezel, the Le Locle is sure to make a statement.
The case measures 39mm in diameter and under 10mm in thickness and features a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The dial has a white background with silver Roman numerals and comes complete with leaf-shaped hands and minutes with luminescent finishes. There's also a date window at 3 o'clock, adding to the classic vibes of this timepiece.
But it's the movement that really sets this watch apart from its competitors. The Powermatic 80 movement is a high-tech ETA caliber 2824-2 with an efficiency rating of more than 80 hours of power reserve. It has 21 jewels, 28800 frequency and Novodiac shock resistance for long-lasting precision. Thanks to laser regulation in the factory, the accuracy is incredibly precise, making it one of the best mechanical calibers on the market today. Weighing in at a mere 2.26 ounces, it's perfect!
When it comes to straps, the Le Locle doesn't disappoint either. You can choose between stainless steel bracelets or alligator or cow leather with butterfly clasps - both of which look great on your wrist! The band fits comfortably and neatly hugs the skin for an all-day feel. With pins and links for easy adjustment. All is as you'd expect for a watch costing 10x more.
With this bad boy You'll feel like you've taken a step ahead in your watch game with it's stunning dial, and quality of construction. Swiss or bust!
NanaDC Badass Rating: 3/5
- I'm absolutely in love with this Swiss made automatic watch that I've been wearing for a while now. The watch uses a powerful Paramedic 80 dot-111 movement, which gives it an 80-hour power reserve. This means I can wear it without worrying about it running out of power, even if I forget to wind it for a few days. It's a really badass feature that sets this watch apart from others in its price range.
- The watch fits my 7-inch wrist perfectly, but it feels much larger than my Orient Bambina watch, which has a larger dial size. Despite this, I still love the watch's design and the mesh inside the dial, which is reminiscent of a Patek Phillipe. The watch is so unique and cool that I feel like a total badass whenever I wear it. It's definitely one of my favorite watches in my collection.
- While it may not have a powerful rotor mechanism, this watch still has many positive attributes. I appreciate the good materials used, such as the sapphire glass and well-done design on the dial and case back. The watch is well-made and built to last. It's obvious that the manufacturer put a lot of thought into the design and construction of the watch. I feel confident wearing it and know that it will hold up over time.
NanaDC Suave Rating: 4/5
- The watch comes in a stunningly beautiful box that resembles a library with a fancy sleeve featuring the history of the brand. The watch's see-through case back is absolutely stunning. It's so cool to see the gears in action and to know that this watch is a true masterpiece of engineering.

Tissot Chemin des Tourelles Powermatic 80
The Tissot Chemin des Tourelles Powermatic 80 is a swiss watch crafted with robust and quality materials. Sapphire crystal and steel case is standard (as it should).
Its ETA movement is solid Swiss and has a power reserve of up to 80 hours, along with a balance frequency of 28'800 A/h and escapement self-lubricating polymer components.
The dial of this watch is remarkable: its modern style includes hour markers, a chapter ring, hands in the shape of swords, and a date window at 3 o'clock. The case comes in the shape of 42mm for the gold-plated version, with a very refined finish – gilt bevels and notches, and accentuate it looks – as well as a stamped crown. The visual details of this watch make it stand out yet still offer its wearer a classic look.
But what really makes this watch stand out is the combination of its traditional look with its contemporary technology. Its Nivarox balance wheel and patented bridges deliver an impressive output in terms of precision and stability. Not to mention its relatively affordable cost – which certainly adds to its value proposition! You can also get a display back if you want to show off the meticulous inner workings (talk about being wowzy).
It's no surprise that Tissot has been around since 1853; their dedication to impeccable craftsmanship and innovation is second-to-none and really brought us this amazing Swissmatic model. You can find similar watches from the Swatch Group – such as Mido or Montblanc – but none offer the same level of quality for such an entry-level price. Hamilton and Certina also offer some variants, but they just can't quite compete on the same level; they lack some of the cool looks and mechanical properties that make Tissot so popular!
Did you know Tissot was one of the first to develop waterproof watches (Triumphs), pocket watches designed for two time zones (Idea 2001), rock watches with electronic movememts (their own Rock Watch line), wood watches with complicated movements (Wood Watch), etc…
We like this watch. Need something robust yet low-cost; something traditional yet modern; something beautiful yet niche – then Tissot Chemin des Tourelles Powermatic 80 is definitely your best bet! And don't let its size fool you: with its 42mm diameter, it's sure to make a statement while being balanced on your wrist.
NanaDC Badass Rating: 3/5
- This Tissot watch is a cool, and sophisticated timepiece that exudes versatility and class. It is perfect for both dress and casual wear, and its unique features make it stand out in any collection. If you're looking for a reliable and stylish watch, this Tiso watch is a great choice.
- As a proud owner of this Tiso watch, I can attest to its exceptional comfort on the wrist. Despite its larger size, measuring 42 millimeters in diameter and a lug to lug distance of 49.6 millimeters, it feels perfectly balanced and not too heavy. The restrained, tailored lugs conform to my wrist, making it very comfortable to wear throughout the day.
- The Powermatic 80 movement is a standout feature of this watch, boasting an impressive 80-hour power reserve. This ensures that I can wear this watch for days without having to worry about winding it. The watch is also anti-magnetic and highly accurate, making it reliable for everyday use.
NanaDC Suave Rating: 4/5

The navy blue dial with its fine granular metallic texture and sunburst effect, coupled with the concentric circle clue de perry texture style, creates a mesmerizing interplay of light that changes with every angle. The raised polished Roman numerals at the quarter hours add a touch of elegance, while the faceted date window and high polish and beveled pencil style hands provide depth and clarity to the dial.

Are Tissot Watches Good Quality?
With 150 years of durability, reliability and precision in the watchmaking industry, Tissot continues to be a leader in Swiss watches. Beyond merely being just 'good', many say their quality is nothing short of "great."
What's more (or less?)--it's all made with a commitment to craftmanship that dates back generations, ensuring owners of a Tissot product are guaranteed something built to last with style that stands out in any crowd. Warranty is normal Swiss fare.
Tissot Watch Brand History
Tissot—the legendary name in watchmaking—is a brand synonymous with innovation, precision, and style. It all began in 1853, when Tissot opened shop selling pocket watches in the quaint Swiss town of Le Locle.
Pretty soon, Tissot's reputation for quality earned them customers from all around the globe. But their pioneering spirit didn't stop there: In the 1910s, they became one of the first watchmakers to create wristwatches for both men and women. Not long after that, they were also the first to come up with non-magnetic watches as electricity started interfering with accuracy!
Their exquisite timepieces haven't gone unnoticed either: movie stars (Liu Yifei), elite athletes (Klay Thompson) and even world political figures have had the pleasure of wearing a Tissot watch! Oh and did I mention they merged with Omega? Currently they are still proudly owned by The Swatch Group.
issot has some impressive partnerships as well — they are the official partner of MotoGP, FIM, RBS 6 Nations, European Rugby Cup, TOP 14, NBA and FIBA World Championships, Superbike Championship, Fencing World Championship, IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship and AFL — making them one of the most recognized brands in their field. What's even more impressive is that all these different disciplines have been incorporated into their watches in some way — making them functional yet stylish pieces of art that can be worn with pride!
Tissot Watch Technology
Tissot—the trusted, reputable brand—has earned its stellar reputation with its cutting-edge technology and attention to detail.
Many admire the Powermatic 80 automatic movement and Swissmatic quartz movement for their accuracy, convenience—we're talking up to three days without wearing it!—and resistance to magnetic interference, thanks to Nivachron and Silicium.
It's no surprise that Tissot is COSC-certified; this means their chronograph or stopwatch features are tested rigorously for acuracy, anti-magnetism, and shock resistance. How's that for accurac?
Plus, you can't ignore how attractive these watches are. But what good are looks without reliability? Not much—which is why Tissot puts quality over everything else.
Bottom line: you get what you pay for when it comes to Tissot watches. And isn't that the point?
Tissot Watch Services and Warranty Policy
"When it comes to watches, you'll never go wrong with Tissot" at least that's what the AD told me when I bought mine. No problems with it that I've had, and With two years of warranty coverage for any production-related issues, there's no reason to worry about your purchase.
But don't forget the basics—clean, upkeep and service every four to five years (who wants a faulty timepiece?) It's actually affordable and better than other Swatch brands like Omega.
A Brief Summary
Tissot has a well-earned rep for being a reliable, quality and tech-savvy watchmaker. Their products—while not as pricey as other luxury brands—are still able to give you plenty of bang for your buck.
For those on a budget, I'd recommend the Tissot Everytime Swissmatic; its classic good looks, combined with the Swissmatic movement all make it a great choice. But if you're looking for something more stylin' and unique, then you can't go wrong with the Tissot Couturier Automatic: Its Swiss automatic movement and classically handcrafted design will have everyone admiring it on your wrist.
But if I'm honest (and you asked me), then my absolute favorite is the Seastar 1000 from Tissot. It's got everything an enthusiast needs: Form & function, Swiss craftsmanship and reliability, contemporary styling…and best of all? It won't break the bank! At least not compared to some of the newer models floating around out there. So let me ask you this— Why wouldn't you want one?
Wrap Up
In a feat few have achieved, Tissot has managed to remain consistent and popular throughout its long-lasting history. With quality watches characterized by their beauty and functionality, it is no wonder why it has held its prestige over time.
Indeed, what other way could there be to prove that such an iconic brand will persistently endure? --(And perhaps evoke curiosity as to how much longer this could go on for?)-- Unsurprisingly, signs point towards an indefinite length of continued success! Foggily but still stalwartly does Tissot march onward; a forever looming sign of trustworthiness for all who view with favour in its direction.
